Seminary Conference for Vatican Israeli Relations

As a result of meetings arranged by Pave the Way between the Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre and the Israeli Consul General, a conference was held at the Seminary in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, to teach the theological justification for modern Israel.

The conference commemorated the 10th anniversary of the commencement of diplomatic relations between Israel and the Holy See. More meetings are planned.

Donald Beckmann, right, Director of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs for the Diocese, chats with Archbishop Celestino Migliore, former Permanent Observer of the Holy See Mission to the U.N. and Rabbi Gerald Meister, Director of Interreligious Relations for the Israeli Consulate. Alon Pinkas, former Consul General for Israel; Gary Krupp of Pave the Way; Bishop William Murphy, Diocese of Rockville Centre; David Nekrutman; Rabbi Dr. Gerald Meister of the Israeli Consulate.
